Hi,
I am having trouble syncing my two macs. My desktop is synced online but my laptop won't let me press the sync button (it is there but faded out and doesn't work when pressed.) Both of the computers are connected to the internet.
When I downloaded Mendeley on the laptop I used my same account.
I'm not sure what I need to do.

How do I set Mendely as the default citation manager?

I was previously using Endnote and have changed over to Mendeley. I have just gone into a database and chosen a journal article to export into Mendeley and my first question is; What file type do I choose? and secondly if its the same as Endnote, how do I choose Mendeley as the default manager so Endnote doesn't automatically open when I hit export.

no longer used files still showing after archiving, deleting and syncing
Hello
Before syncing my desktop library on mendeley to mendeley on the web, I deleted several references and their attached pdf, this beucause were no longer used. Then I used the tiddy up option on the File organizer tab option, and deleted the archived files. After syncing several times over the week those "archived" files continue to appear everytime after syncing is finished I have only 864 references but my organized file directory shows 1345 files which I archived several times.
Is there any other option to do this? I really need to get rid of those files as they are no longer used and syncing is taking a lot of time.

pubmed importing problem, "sign in"...
when I try to import from Pubmed I am requested to "sign in" even though I have already done it. When I "sign in" again (along with the instruction) and try to import..the process restarts and I am asked to "sign in" again and again...

Repeated registration, login does not work
Dear friends, my logout does not work when I enter my email address and password, I get the answer "An error occured when contacting Mendeley. Error message:unable to send HTTP request to /oath/token/", but when I press the button "register", I enter my Mendeley account, but only with a few pages:get Mendeley/Dashboard/My library/Papers/Groups/People, there is no such options as File, Edit, Tools etc.
Please help!
How can I get access to all the options of the Mendeley?

i can't sign into mendeley desktop
Every time I try to log into Mendeley Desktop it tells me I have the wrong email address or password. I tried changing my password and it still won't work.

endnote and mendeley
I have Endnote installed on my Mac Os system. Then I downloaded Mendeley. It is crashing a lot. especially when I hit 'go to Mendeley library'. do I need to uninstall endnote cite while you write? I am not using my endnote library in this document.
Also, how do i get mendeley to import the abstracts of papers? thanks, A new user

missing PDFs
I am in the process of moving my previously saved papers into my Mendeley desktop. What frequently seems to happen is that the little pdf icon will appear beside the bibliographic information initially, but later on the icon telling me that there is a problem with the download appears. I move the paper in again and all is fine.
What is going wrong?

Unable to Log In
I just created a Mendeley account and downloaded Mendeley Desktop on my Mac and PC. It works fine on my Mac, but whenever I try to login on my PC, it says an unknown error occured. After looking at responses to similar questions, I have tried Ctrl+Shift+P and unchecking "Use system connection settings" and restarting Mendeley, but it still does not work.

I have downloaded the app as per your instructions but everytime I click on the Mendeley Desktop app on my desktop, it goes back to the download screen showing a graphic of the desktop app and a graphic of the app folder and telling me to drag the app into the folder - no matter how many times I do this, nothing further happens - help

Word Plugin Not Working
Hi,
I've recently downloaded Mendeley and I've installed the plugin for Word. When I try to add a citation in Word using the plugin, I get the error message
"Unable to start Mendeley automatically: Unable to send HTTP request to /menedeleyDesktopInfo
Try starting Mendeley Desktop manually."
I've tried closing word and Menedeley, restarting my computer, and updating my Word, but nothing works.
What to do?

1708 Error
Hello,
I'm having trouble getting the Word plug-in on my Mac (running OS X 10.8.4 on a penultimate generation Mac Air, using Office for Mac 2008) to work. When I try to insert a citation, it just gives me "OSERROR -1708" with a command error thrown and a long error message. Please let me know how to fix this!
