Unable to log in.
A message "An error occued when contacting Mendely" arises when I try to log in. I have unchecked the box marked Use System Connection Settings, restarted Mendeley Desktop, but the problem persists.

Determining if all intended files were uploaded from an EndNote Library
Once you have imported a library, is it possible to see the actual number of citations you have imported, to determine if all the files were uploaded from an (for example) EndNote Library.

Export "custom 1" from Endnote to Mendeley ... possible?
In Endnote I managed to link my digital library to my physical library; by numbering my physical library and entering the number in the field called custom 1.
Is it posible to export these settings as well to Mendeley? I do not see any option similar to the endnote field " custom 1".
Or is there any other way / filed where I can put down (manually?) the numbers corresponding to my physical library.
My physical library contains a lot of articles that are not available in pdf (they are my sources) or on the web.

I have been a challenge adding a file to my Mendeley desktop. when I add a PDF file the authors are not correctly picked and when I do it manually it doesn't appears as it should be especially for multiple authors. How do I add multiple authors manually?

problem with MS word plug-in

I have problems with the word plug in. I tried several of the previous solutions offered by experts (e.g., reinstrall plugin; moving the file from the startup folder and directly open it from another file; update MS-word; enable macros, etc) but nothing worked. (operating system Mindows 7, MS-word 2010, Mendeley version, 1.84)

Is highlighted text supposed to become an annotation over on the right side in the box?

Folders
The orientation video shows a drop down of folders available when inserting a citation through the Word add-in. I have set up folders on desktop but they are not dropping down to select in Word(2010,) just a button "My library" which doesn't do anything. I have to use the "Go to Mendeley" button. Any suggestions of what I did wrong when I set up my folders?

Problem with drag and drop files
Hi,
Before early 2013 I usually drag and drop my PDF into Mendeley Desktop. It was automatically added to the library, the name of the authors, the title... was well written. For some month, when I drag and drop my PDF, it is well imported in the Mendeley desktop but the name, title etc. is no more imported. Instead, I just have the name of the file (the name I chose when I saved the pdf on my computer, e.g. 2013-my paper.pdf )instead of the real title.
I currently use the version 1.8.4.
Do you have any explanation ?

Cite while writing in MS Word
I have installed Mendeley desktop and have installed the MS Word plugin. I can find the Mendeley toolbar in MS Word, however when I click on the "insert citation" option nothing happens. I have references in my library. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the MS Word Plugin.
I have also tried to go the other way, and from the Mendeley library I have looked for an option to insert a citation to MS Word, but the toolbar buttons that appear in the help tutorial (including the option to send a citation to word) do not appear on my Mendeley screen.

importing citations
I have a variety of citations in MS Word documents. Is there anyway that Mendeley can recognize those citations and format them into the program, or do I need to enter all the information manually into Mendeley?

SSL error
I am trying to log in for the first time, and it says there is an SSL error and a secure connection could not be made. I can log into my account on the website, just not through Mendeley Desktop. Do I need to change something in my computer's settings?

Scanned PDFs
I am new to Mendeley and am excited to get started. I am old fashioned and usually print and highlight in paper copies. How can I import my scanned annotated PDFs and have Mendeley recognize the bibliographic information without me having to type it in manually? Or is there another round about way to do this?

"needs review"
Hi,
I would like to know if the fact that a paper is flagged as "needs review" changes something to the way Mendeley considers its metadata.
Suppose for example that I update the metadata of a paper but that I do not mark the paper as "reviewed". Will Mendeley continue to search the metadata to be attached for this file and possibly override the ones I will have entered ?

cannot install MS word plugin
I have just successfully installed Mendeley. However, after installing the MS word plugin, it doesn't appear in my reference tool bar (windows 2007).
How can I solve this?
