For some reason when I imported from Zotero, I wound up with hundreds of duplicates. I know how to find duplicates, but is there some way to quickly remove a batch of duplicates. I don't want to manually go thru each one and merge. That's going to take me over an hour.

Error on start up
What do I have to do? I have downloaded Mendeley desktop but I am trying to finish the last step in running it and it keeps saying, an error occured while contacting Mendeley, contact support.I have contacted support,but can't seem to find or fix the problem..What is the problem? My PC is connected to the net, so what is the problem nw?

Cannot enter "in press" as the year -- why is this not fixed?
I realize the technical question about this has been recently answered. My question is a bit different.
Can someone explain (a) how this bug came to be; (b) why is has not been fixed yet; (c) why it was not fixed instantly upon the first report.
I ask because this bug makes it impossible for a substantial fraction of published papers in psychology and related fields to conform to APA guidelines, and thus invalidates one of Mendeley's main claims to be a serious bibliographic system.
A search for "(in press)" at google scholar gives 3,090,000 results! That is 3,090,000 papers that cannot be published with Mendeley.

Problem using Mendeley on Mac
I have Microsoft Word for Mac 2011 (version 14.3.2) on my Mac OS X 10.6.8.
I have installed Mendeley version 1.8.4 but do not seem to be able to insert citations.
The error message is: Mendeley Word Plugin Problem. Unable to start Mendeley Desktop automatically: Running helper failed with exit code 25600. Try starting Mendeley Desktop manually.
I have tried doing this to no avail.
I have tried looking at other threads but can't find a solution.

reference from refworks and create bibliography from mendeley
I have a document with large number of references (200-300). I was using RefWork previously but then I found your Mendeley is useful and easier than RefWork. Now I have a problem in order to use Mendeley effectively.
So far I have inserted all reference in my document using RefWorks and now onwards can I insert refrences from Mendeley in same document and afterwards can I create Bibliography using Mendeley? Because At the minute I tried using that but Mendeley can't retrive reference list in Bibliography from RefWorks. Can weachieve this? If not, does it mean I have to insert all references one by one into my document through Mendeley?

Installing Word PlugIn
I keep getting the error "Unable to install the Microsoft Word Plugin, Mendeley was not able to find Microsoft Word on this Mac". I am using a OS X 10.5.8 and MS Word X for Mac. Any ideas?

Features
I am evaluating Mendeley to see if it will be a useful tool. Here are some of the features that I have found useful in the past, but that I can't seem to find a way for Mendeley to do. Can you let me know if these are possible?
1. A list of recently opened files?
2. When closing Mendeley with open files - to have those same files open when Mendelay is restarted?
3. Giving Annotations a Title which can then be grouped - so that annotations can be viewed by Title category rather than just by author of the annotation.
4. My folder structure on my laptop is very organised and the files have sensible names - is there a way of importing the folder structure into Mendeley without having to re-create it manually?

Unable to open mendeley desktop
"Mendeley desktop" is showing in my programs list to change or uninstall programs but there is no icon on my desktop, start-up or quick launch menu. Where can I find it to open and work with it?? Should I just unistall it and start again?Thank you. Mike

I have installed the word plug-in and it is working perfectly. However I would like to insert a citation that is a website address (so it is not in my Mendeley library). How can I do this ?

File references for importing bibtex file
So far I have managed my references with Jabref and I have a long reference list with links to the PDF files included. For me it is essential that I can import the complete information of my bibtex file in order to use Mendeley. I have tried to import just a few documents and drag&dropped the bibtex file in Mendeley. The software recognized the articles and organized the information. But the link to the PDF which looks like = {:/home/user/literature/Year_Author_Title.pdf:PDF} in the bibtex file does not work in Mendeley. Instead the bibtex file itself is included as file information and on click Jabref will open with the file I had imported.
How can this problem be resolved so that the link to the file is recognized by Mendeley and copied into the Mendeley file structure?

Can't open article saved by the "bookmark bar"
Hi, when i'm using the bookmark bar, save to Mendeley, i'm able to see my article in the mendeley desktop, however when clicking on it nothing happens.

I have forgotten the userid and password for the old account so I opened a new account since I would like to synchronize with the web, but I can't see the new (unpopulated account) to transfer my library.

Multiple articles in one bibliographic entry?
When inserting citations into Word, is it possible to group together multiple citations by one author into a single bibliographic entry, separated by semicolons? I'm using the APS (American Physics Society) citation Style, and my understanding is that this format is what's called for by the journal.
To clarify, what I currently have is: text blah blah [1-3].
Bibliography:
[1] Jewett, Article 1
[2] Jewett, Article 2
[3] Jewett, Article 3
What I want is: text blah blah [1]
Bibliography:
[1] Jewett, Article 1; Article 2; Article 3.
Similarly, is it possible to insert text into bibliographic entries, to make them more like footnotes? I'd like to be able to to say:
[1] A more complete summary of these issues can be found in a series of articles by Jewett: Article 1; Article 2; Article 3.

When I insert the citation in the text of a word document it inserts the full citation - that is the citation that should appear in the bibliography.
