Hello,
I imported my library from Zotero. It imported the papers and the collections, but not the subcollections (arborescence).
How do I fix that problem?
Thank you,
Myriam

Transion from Zotero
Hello there!
Due to continuous problems with Zotero, I have decided to try Mendeley. I have followed the instructions about importing files from Zotero, but I have encountered a few problems, which give me a puzzle:
1) I cannot successfully import my files since in Zotero they are arranged in sub-folders, and Mendeley ignores their existence.
2) I have online gourps in Zotero, and again Mendely ignores them. I guess that the first problem will be valid here as well, because in these groups there are folders and sub-folders as well.
3) Is there any way to copy items from groups to local saving and vice versa? I cannot do it by dragging files.
would appreciate your solution.
Thanks in advance!

Sorting inline citations in Word
Hello,
I am using IEEE with inline citations as [Number] in Word, but for some reasons the sorting seems random to me. I want to get the numbering chronological, e.g. [1], [2] and [3] as they appear in my document, but my first citation starts with [4] and my last is [3] for some reasons...

Save in mendeley and my computer at the same time
Hello,
I'm starting to use Mendeley now, and I was wondering if it is possible to save the changes that I make in the document while using mendeley, in the document in my computer as well.
For instance, if i read a paper and then I highlight some parts and put some notes. Is it possible for those changes made in the mendeley to sync with the archive I originally have in my computer in case I want to send to someone?
Thanks

The role of the home-based carer in preventing HIV and AIDS
Hallo, I'm new on Mendeley. I've downloaded all my relevant articles pertaining to my research topic in Mendeley. My next logical step would be to start writing the literature review for my thesis. How do I do this? How do I order my information in a logical sequence?
Please help! I'm a bit lost!

Migrating from Papers. How to sync folders and collections.
Hi,
I'm trying to migrate from papers3 to Mendeley. It's harder than I expected....
First, I exported my whole library to a RIS file, and added to Mendeley as tutorial says.
But, then once added, when it begans to upload the files to my account, it begins to crash permanently. I don't know why but I assumed that is because I have files with +50mb in Papers and Mendeley doesn't support them.
I assume that once I delete that files I'll be able to bypass that and recreate a new library.
But here's the biggest point.
What I have to do to recretate my structured Paper folders? I have more than 500 papers. Will I have to distribute them manually in each folders?
There's any option to migrate the collections or folders as well as the references/PDFs?
Waiting your help.
Thank you!

Do citations have to be inserted individually?
I have always used Endnote in the past, which scans my document and prompts me with choices for a citation that is problematic. With Mendeley I am only able to insert each citation individually? Is there a way for it to scan the document? Am I missing something here?
Thanks

Can't get inline citation to sort by year - ascending
I'm a newbie to CSL. Tried editing the Geological Society of America Bulletin style,as the author-date citations should be sorted by date (ascending). I added a sort by suffix-year ascending to a modified GSA Bull citation style, but it still isn't working. Any help would be appreciated.

MS Word Plugin for 2008 Office version
Hi,
I've just installed Mendeley and to get started properly, I wanted to install the MS word plugin.
As I'm using the 2008 MS office version, clicking tools - install ms word plugin results in an error message stating that Mendeley is currently supporting the 2011 version of MS word.
Is there any way I can install a plugin for older word versions? Or does someone have an advice on how to solve the problem withouth buying a newer MS office version?

Import from Papers2
I want to import my library from Papers2, mainly because I need to share literature with multiple work groups online) and see no new advice on this since 2013. My main issues to deal with are:
1- keeping my Papers2 collections (I have over 2000 references in over 40 collections, some nested) - can these be imported as 'Folders' (or something else, e.g. by importing them as labels/tags in Mendeley)?
2- there is some good advice from cdunn on doi issues (http://practicalcomputing.org/node/68). Is this still the same or is there an update?
3- any other practical advice?
Thanks!!!

referring to computer programs
Hi,
I want to make a referrence to a computer program, e.g in the form:
Wilfried Thuiller, Damien Georges and Robin Engler (2015). biomod2: Ensemble platform for species distribution modeling. R package version 3.1-73. http://R-Forge.R-project.org/projects/biomod/
I can enter the fields 'version' and 'url' in Mendeley for type 'Computer Program'. However, when I insert the bibliography with MS Word Plugin, 'version' and 'url' are not included:
Thuiller, W., D. Georges, and R. Engler. 2015. biomod2: Ensemble platform for species distribution modeling.
How can I specify which fields for a particular type sould be considered for the references in the MS Word document (e.g. 'version' and 'url' should be included for type 'Computer Program' but not for 'Journal Article')?
Best regards
Frank
