Add an indirect citation to bibfile generated by Mendeley

I would like to include a secondary source to my Mendeley bib. (Secondary source like: A, 1905 as cited by, B 1999.) As this is not possible (yet), I would have to include it in the bibfile Mendeley generates for me. However, this is overwritten as soon as I add/change some file in my Mendeley. Is there any way to overcome this problem? Thanks!
