How can I use Mendeley and JabRef in parallel?

I use a single bibtex file via JabRef to manage all of my references in different groups, and don't care where my PDFs are located. Can I use Mendeley in parallel with JabRef to cope with the giant Bibtex file without losing my control via JabRef? Thanks.
