Hello everyone,
I had the problem that when trying to cite one specific reference, a certain book, Mendeley Desktop just would not cite it. All others it did cite.
The topic can be found in the archive:
archive:http://support.mendeley.com/customer/portal/questions/1388602-it-won-t-cite-this-one-reference
I want to add how I got it to work:
When you click on "Insert Citation" and you have the list of citations to choose from, notice that the Authors underneath the title will be in green colour (unless selected). If they are not, Mendeley will not cite them.
It turned out I just put the names in the "box" in the wrong way when first adding the reference to my library. I was used to do it the way MS Word let's you put names in, separating each author by a comma.
In Mendeley, first and last name of an author a separated by a comma, but different authors are separated by "enter" put:
"Last Name A [insert a comma] First Name A [press enter]Last Name B [insert a comma] First Name B".
It actually tells you to do exactly so, I just overlooked it ;P
So i hope this helps,
bye, Isa
