Adding multiple authors manually

I have just been frustrated by Mendeley. I am first time user but i think I am going back to refworks. Mendeley gives me problems when I try to add multiple authors manually. I have seen your responses to other uses. Even if I do as u directed others (i.e lastname,firstname enter last name,firstname), just doesn't work. I am also having problems where the authors name i.e Miche J. Attrill. The initial become a problem. I am stuck
