I have the same problem like Gabriele (http://support.mendeley.com/customer/portal/questions/913487-installing-openoffice-plugin) but I am using LibreOffice.
When I choose 'Tools' the option to install the LibreOffice-plugin does not appear.
My OS is Windows 7, the LO version is 4.0.2.2, the Mendeley version is 1.8.4 and I already tried it with OpenOffice where I encountered the same problem.
My guess is that the problem derives from the circumstance that I am using portable versions. Is there or will there be a possibility to use Mendeley with those as well?
